Mrs. Debbie White has been involved with Cody CAN ever since the program started! She is also heavily involved with other progressive youth programs such as Youth for Justice, the Teen Leadership Coalition, and Teen Court. In her “spare time”, Mrs. White is also a full-time science teacher at Cody High School specializing in physical sciences.
Cody CAN owes a lot of its success to Mrs. White’s endless dedication and passion for the program. As CAN’s student leaders graduate and new students become involved with the program, her knowledge and experience enable CAN to keep growing and moving forward instead of starting over each year. CAN is managed and led by students; Debbie White provides a solid foundation that keeps the program on track.
As the head of CAN’s Organizational Support team, Mrs. White helps schedule the student interns so that CAN is able to reach it’s goals. Her invaluable organizational abilities allow a handful of students to handle everything from daily finances to massive social events. She is also our official liaison to the school District and is able to use her position to handle many of CAN’s political issues. Without Debbie’s influence, CAN would not be as well-integrated with the school system as it is now.
Outside of school, Mrs. White enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and exploring the outdoors. If you ever want to know where to find a bear or wonder what it’s really like in Africa, Debbie White is the person to ask!
