These are the students who are responsible for making CAN work! They decide what events to sponsor, which programs to support, and the new directions CAN takes as it grows. Since CAN is a legal entity, these outstanding students will graduate from Cody High School having served on the Board of an actual corporation!
President - Katie Curtis
The president is in charge of all meetings.
Katie is a senior at Cody High School and the president of Cody CAN. She is the first president in CAN’s history to be related to a previous president (her sister, Tiffany, was president during CAN’s early years).
Katie is a high achiever who has been active in CAN since she was in elementary school. Her dedication to the CAN philosophy ensures the continued success of the program!
Outside of school. Katie is active in Rodeo with several titles under her belt buckle.
Treasurer - Meredith Iler
The treasurer manages CAN’s budget and financial transactions.
Meredith is a senior at Cody High School and is the treasurer of Cody CAN. She became a CAN Member only a few years ago, but her outstanding support for the ideals of the program have quickly made her an invaluable asset.
Known for being smart and nice, Meredith maintains a high GPA and participates in National Honor Society, Youth for Justice, and other youth programs.
Look for Meredith at Big Horn Cinemas when you go to the movies Friday night. She handles the money there too!
Community Liaison - Dossie Overfield
The Community Liaison gives perspective to the Board
Dossie is a special member of the CAN Board. She is obviously not a student of Cody High School, but she plays a vital role in the functioning of CAN.
As a professional community member, Dossie is able to give guidance and perspective to the student members of the CAN board. She does not actively make decisions for CAN, but she does help the students avoid making legal mistakes. Dossie also double checks CAN’s financial transactions to keep the IRS at bay :).
In her professional life, Dossie is responsible for some of our most precious resources as the manager of Northwest Rural Water. She also serves on the School Board.
